Procedure:
Before any custom ear pieces can be manufactured,
silicon impressions of the client’s ears need
to be taken. The procedure takes only a few minutes
and is carried out by a qualified professional.
The
ear is first examined to determine whether the impression
can be safely taken. The most common reason for not
being able to take the impression is wax build up
in the ear canal. In this case the subject would then
need to see a doctor, nurse or audiologist and have
the wax removed.

If the ear is clear of wax and free from infection
the ear impression can be taken. A small foam stop
is placed into the ear canal to seal the eardrum from
the impression material.
A
two part silicon material is then injected into the
ear. This stays in the ear for about 5 minutes until
it hardens.

The impression is then removed, capturing the internal
shape of the ear.
Impression can be taken at our premises or we can
arrange site visits depending on location and the
number of impressions to be taken.
